Visualize the Effect of Debt

Carry a sheet of paper and note each time you think about being in debt—how many times a week does this happen? Write down how you feel about being in debt (angry, nervous…). Now, write down how you’d feel if you weren’t in debt (free, happy...). Cut this page in half. Hang the positive emotions in a spot you’ll see each day. Carry the negative list with you, and review it before each purchase.
